Session Management with Screen
I hate to admit this, but it wasn’t until very recently that I’ve started using screen, and not until very very recently, that I’ve used it in any sort of productive manner.
This tutorial is a good quick overview on what it is and how it makes you more productive with multiple ssh sessions, particularly in environments where you need to collaborate with others, document your session, or make sure that a disconnection will not stop whatever process you’re running.
One frustration I have is not being able to go to the beginning of a line (control-a) while in screen. Any suggestions there would be greatly appreciated!
